ABOUT HARD WINE

 In 2002, a group of Block D students from Irvine Hall, known as The Mighty Veterans, transformed their annual block event into a soca party on the lawns of Irvine Hall. Unbeknownst to them, this marked the dawn of a new entertainment era in Jamaica. The event, named “Hard Wine,” was a unique spectacle, being out-of-season, and it became the pioneer of out-of-season soca parties. While many have tried to replicate it, Hard Wine remains the “Mother” of them all. Over the years, it has garnered positive reviews and generated significant interest within the entertainment industry, evolving into a major calendar event for soca enthusiasts and partygoers alike. After its third staging, the event adopted the tagline, The Ultimate Soca Experience, reflecting its growing fanbase and the event's distinctive nature. Since its inception in 2002, Hard Wine has consistently expanded, marked by a significant increase in patrons and interest, solidifying its status as a key event on the calendar. Its success is attributed to the exceptional professionalism of the committee and sponsors, enhancing the event's value for stakeholders and attendees.
